Purposeful Living – Bounce Back for the New Year

Today’s post in Purposeful Living, we will discuss how to Bounce Back for the year 2020. It is time to get focus. If you had a bad 2019, you can course correct. Living can be hard, but we can always Bounce Back and pull ourselves out of the space of uncertainty. Make the new year your comeback season.

If you have had a good year and want an even better year, it is time to make your plans a reality.  Those of you who have had a great year, it is time to maintain and keep the momentum: bouncing forward.

Remember, No matter who you are or where you are, you have work to do; you always have space to improve, innovate, recreate, and let things go that do not serve a purpose in your life.

Bounce Back with Purpose

What is bouncing back?

Bouncing back is when you can pull yourself out of a negative situation (learn from it) and come out better than you were before. Bouncing back is hard, it takes an unbelievable amount of willpower, but it is doable.

Now that we have defined what bouncing back is, now we have to learn how to bounce back—>Let’s cue in purpose.

Before you can bounce back, you must find your reason WHY. What is motivating you to bounce back from a terrible circumstance? Is it your kids? Yourself? It could be your reputation or maybe you want to salvage a connection that you lost. Whatever it is, use that to fuel your bounce back.

How do you Bounce Back

Before you do the bouncing, you must change your mindset! It is hard to come out on top despite negative circumstances! I have been in the process of bouncing back since 2017 and I am still in the process and still growing.

Every Monday, you have to make the decision to bounce back, to live your best life, and to let go of things that don’t serve a purpose. Living with a purpose It is a daily thing and a daily decision. The new year starts in 9 days. Do you want to be in the same situation at the end of 2020 like you are now? Think about what you would feel like. Would you feel good? Are you okay with that way of living?

How I Bounced back

After I graduated from college in 2015, I was a hot mess. I didn’t know what to do with my life and I was stuck living in the past. Some mornings, I couldn’t get up and I couldn’t start my day . My sense of direction had been knocked off and my drive had been kilt.

The following year, I thought love was the answer and I found myself in a toxic relationship. Let me tell you this, if you are in an unsure place, a relationship is not the answer.

After the relationship ended, I realized I needed to course-correct and if I didn’t my life would plummet. What did I do? I started reading and I started to write. I found a healthy (safe) outlet to share my emotions and my feelings. From there, I connected with wiser people who could help me further develop.

Through journaling, I found my passions and once I found my passions I researched what I needed to do to follow and live it. I have been on this journey since 2015 and I am still on this journey sharing with you all.

Some days, I’m not going to lie, I find myself going back in the hole of self-doubt. But, compared to then to now, when I get into the hole, I can easily snapback. Bouncing back doesn’t have to be a complex thing, it can be something simple (e.g. you ate cake last night, you go to the gym the next week and lose weight).

Before we wrap things up, I want to leave you with some affirmations that will help your mindset. I believe in the power of setting intentions and living through the intentions I have set for my day and for my life. For this New Year, I want you to find an affirmation that resonates with you to fuel your bounce back and your sense of purpose!
